Event Description
Using a Student Response System: “Clickers” in the Classroom
The TurningPoint wireless student response system is being adopted by some Academic Departments. The system allows faculty to obtain immediate feedback from the class. Conduct interactive quizzes and tests, and in general increase the level of engagement in students. The system consists of a number of individual wireless response pads, a USB receiver attached to the classroom computer, and the corresponding software.
Microsoft PowerPoint and Word interact with the software to present the audience with questions and display their answers almost instantly. In this introductory workshop faculty will learn how to develop quizzes and other activities using PowerPoint, how to deploy them in a class setting, and how to manage the use of the response pads. Pre-requisites: Familiarity with Windows XP and MS Office 2007 |
